On Husbands & Hotels (and why I wanted to change them both) Part 2

Normally when we travel Alan chooses good hotels, sometimes they are even great.  There have however been the duds.  The second problem hotel was recommended by Alan's colleague (and we won't be using her recommendations again!).

The room itself while dark, was okay.  It was the facilities that caused the problem.  As you can see the shower for the en-suite was actually an alcove next to the wardrobe (on the left) with a curtain pulled across.

Okay, that wasn't too bad.  Except that it leaked.  First it backed up (yuk!) and caused a flood across the bedroom floor.  I had them up to repair that.  Then it flooded again, but this time the water had managed to get into the skirting board and the water come out away from the shower, causing yet another flood further into the room.  Up they came again to clean and sort that out.  Well at least we knew what the boards on the shower floor were for, to stop you standing in ankle deep dirty water.

Guess what?  That wasn't even my main complaint.  Oh no, that was reserved for the toilet.  See that wardrobe in the above photo?  There is a screen door attached to the left side, which like the wardrobe, does not reach the ceiling.  The toilet is sitting behind that!!!!   You could actually lay on the bed and watch someone sitting on the toilet.
If listening to etc (and I leave you to work that bit out) your roommate using the toilet is your thing (and apparently to Chuck Berry and a few others it is), this is the hotel for you.  What were they thinking when the designed this, can you imagine of this was your honeymoon?  The marriage wouldn't have lasted beyond the first use of the loo!

Oh yes, he paid very dearly for this choice.  We were in there FIVE nights!!!
